DALLAS COWBOYS TEAM

The Dallas Cowboys were the NFL's first expansion team.  The team was first known as the Dallas Steers, then the Dallas Rangers.  On March 19,1960 it was called the Cowboys to avoid confusion with the Dallas Rangers baseball team.  There were five investors in the Dallas Cowboys, Clint Murchison, Jr, John D Murchinson, Toddie Lee, Bedford Wynne and William R. Hawn.

The Blue Star logo represents Texas "The Lone Star State".  The Blue star was originally a solid white line; the blue border was added later.  This is one of the best team logos in any professional sports.  The logo is also apart of the Dallas Desperados, Jerry Jones AFL team.  The home jerseys are white with royal blue socks, numbers, letters and two stripes on the sleeves.  The pants are metallic silver-blue.  The away jerseys are navy with white lettering and numbering.  There is a "Cowboys" chest crest under the NFL logo.

The teams's helmets are silver & blue with a vertical stripe placed on the center of the crown.  The player's name is on the white portion of the stripe at the back of the helmet.  The logo and uniform has had very minimal change to this day.  Some of the changes within the last 40 years were: the numbers were moved from the shoulders to the sleeves, removal of the indented serifs, and the word "Cowboys" in the center of the neckline.
