DALLAS COWBOYS TEAM OWNER


Jerral " Jerry " Wayne Jones born October 13, 1942 is currently the owner and general manager of the NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys.  In 1989, Jones purchased the Cowboys and the Texas Stadium from H. R. "Brum" Bright for $140 million. Jones a native of Arkansas attended the University of Arkansas.  He received his Masters degree in business and started his own business, Jones Oil and Land Lease. This business was very successful.  

 Unlike other professional sports owners Jones is very involved on a daily basis with his team. He is one of the three NFL owners who also have the title of general manager. Although some Dallas Cowboys fans have expressed their disatisfaction with Jones and the lack of success in the franchise.  He can be seen in his box at every Cowboys game and walking down the Cowboys sidelines.

Jery Jones is married to Gene Jones and they have three children Stephen, Charlotte, and Jerry Jr.  Stehen is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and works as the Cowboys' chief operating officer/executive vice president /director of player personnel.  Charlotte is a Standford graduate and serves as the Cowboys' vice president/director of charities and special events.  Jerry, Jr is a graduate of Georgetown University is the Cowboys' chief sales and marketing officer/vice president.
