DALLAS COWBOYS STADIUM


The Cowboys Stadium is located in Arlington, Texas.  It is home of the National Football League 's Dallas Cowboys.  It was completed on May 27, 2009.  The stadium is the largest dome stadium in the world, however, it is the largest stadium in the NFL by seating capacity.  The stadium seats 80,000; the maximum capacity of the stadium, including standing room is 110,000.  The facility is also used for a variety of other activites such as concerts, basketball games, boxing matches, college football and high school football contest. 

The original estimated cost of the stadium was $650 million, the curent construction cost was $1.15 billion, making it one of the most expensive sports venues ever built.  The stadium has the largest column-free intererior and the largest high definition  video screen which hangs from the 20 yard line to 20 yard line.  There are also more than 3,000 Sony LCD displays throughout the luxury suites, concources and concession stands giving fans viewing options other than the action on the field.

The Cowboys first regular season home game against the New York Giants in 2009 recorded 105,121 fans in the newly built stadium.  The blue star was revealed for the first time.
