DALLAS COWBOYS SUPERBOWLS


Dallas appeared in eight Super Bowls, winning only five of those games.  Dallas tied the San Francisco 49ers for the most Super Bowl wins by a team and was the first team to win three Super Bowls in four years.  Tom Landry was their first head coach.  The Cowboys' did not win a single game their first season. They finished with a record of 0-11.

In 1970 the Cowboys' first Super Bowl they lost to the Baltimore Colts 16-13.   In 1971 they made their second appearance against the Miami Dolphins with a victory 24-3.  In Super Bowl X, the Cowboys' were defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers; two years later they won their second Super Bowl by defeating the Denver Broncos 27-10 in Super Bowl XII. 

The Cowboys went through a coach change; Tom Landry was terminated.  He was replaced with University of Miami head coach Jimmy Johnson.  In 1992 the Cowboys' posted a record of 13-3 to win the Eastern Division Title.  They earned their first trip to the Super Bowl since 1979. In Super Bowl XXVII, the Cowboys' defeated the Buffalo Bills 52-17.
